PURPOSE/MISSION STATEMENT
The ultimate purpose of the MENNONITE BRETHREN CHURCH in Henderson is to:
CHANGE HEARTS
First, we LOVE GOD by allowing our hearts to be changed.
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it:
Love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:37-40
Second we LIVE FOR CHRIST in a way that others' hearts will be changed.
"and he sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick."
Luke 9:2
Third we are Spirit Led for heart changes are made only by God's power.
"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ ."
